Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of shared leadership on adaptive performance and empirically verify the mediating effect of grit in this process. Additionally, it seeks to test the moderating effects of communal and agentic orientations in the relationship between shared leadership and adaptive performance. To achieve this, an online survey was conducted using Google Forms with 234 employees working in various companies. The results of the data analysis indicated that shared leadership had a positive effect on adaptive performance. The mediating effect of grit in the relationship between shared leadership and adaptive performance was also found to be significant. Regarding the moderating effects of communal and agentic orientations, the hypothesis for the moderating effect of agentic orientation was not supported. However, communal orientation was found to strengthen the positive relationship between shared leadership and adaptive performance, supporting the hypothesis. Based on these findings, theoretical and practical implications, limitations, and directions for future research are discussed.
