기독 학부모의 자녀 양육론 －기독교적 가치 교육을 중심으로

사회가 발전함에 따라 가치체계가 혼란해지고 붕괴되어 가족구조와 관계, 학교교육, 기독교학교, 심지어 교회학교까지도 가치체계가 변화하여 올바른 가치교육을 위한 기관으로서 어려움을 가지고 있다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 기독교 가정이 가치교육을 효율적으로 담당할 수 있도록 기독교 가정의 책임에 대한 인식, 다른 기관들과 어떤 긴밀한 관계를 맺고 가치교육을 실시해야 하며, 어떤 내용으로 교육해야 하는지, 어떤 방법으로 가치교육을 실시해야 하는지에 대한 연구하고자 하였다. 가치란 삶에 있어서 중요하다고 생각하는 것, 바람직한 것에 대한 개념이다. 어떤 것을 평가하고 판단하는 기준이 되는 인간의 인지적인 영역에서 기능을 하고, 어떤 것에 대해 동기를 갖고 가치관에 따라 다른 태도를 갖게 하는 정의적인 영역에서 기능을 하고, 행동의 방향을 결정하고 실제로 가치관에 따라 행동을 규정짓는 인간의 행위적 차원에서 그 기능을 한다. 가치는 개인이 속한 사회와 문화의 영향을 받으면서 내면화 과정을 통해 형성된다. 부모의 가치나 신념에 대한 의견 일치, 부모－자녀간의 의견 일치, 아버지의 역할, 도덕적 갈등 상황에 대한 부모의 적극적 반응, 애정을 가진 권위적인 양육방식, 부모－자녀의 긍정적 관계, 자녀들이 종교 활동에 참여하도록 훈련시키는 부모 등의 역할이 가치교육에 효과적이었음이 여러 연구들을 통해 밝혀졌다. 기독교적 가치교육을 위한 기독 학부모의 자녀 양육을 위해서 가치의 위계질서에 따라 가치가 선택되어 내면화되도록 교육해야 하며, 수단적 가치보다 목적적 가치를, 외재적 가치보다 내재적 가치를 추구하도록 방향을 설정해야 하며, 모든 사람들에게 변함없이공통적으로 적용되고 기준이 되는 가치, 즉 보편적 가치를 교육해야 한다고 가치교육의 방향을 제시하였다. 기독교적 세계관을 기초로 자녀들에게 기독교적 신념과 성숙한 내재적 신앙과 기독교적 가치, 즉 사랑, 평화, 자유, 정의의 가치를 교육내용으로 가르쳐야 한다고 제시하였다. 가치교육에 있어서 부모의 역할로 먼저 부모 자신들의 가치체계를 점검해보고 긍정적인 동일시 모델이 되기 위해 자신들을 성장시켜 나가야 함을 제안하였고, 가치교육에 있어서 현대 사회에서 많이 소홀해지고 있는 아버지의 역할에 대한 강조를 제안하였다. 부모의 양육방식, 즉 양육의 질이 가치교육에 영향을 끼침을 인식하고 자녀들과 긍정적인 관계를 형성하도록 제안하면서 가정에서 실시할 수 있는 구체적 활동을 소개하였다.
Abstract
Value system has been confused and collapsed. Value systems of family, schools, Christian schools, even church schools have been also confused, so they have difficulties in teaching important values. Therefore, this article is to study the responsibility of Christian families and the content and method of value education for Christian families to do their effective roles. Value is the concept of thinking of the important things in life and the concept of desirable things. It is the criterion which evaluates and judges something, so it functions in the cognitive area. It is also to have the motivation and attitude for something according to values, and it functions in the affective area. It is also to decide the direction of action and define one’s actions according to values. Therefore, it functions in the behavioral area. Values have been formed by interactions in the society. Many studies showed that agreement of parents on values and beliefs, agreement of parents-children’s opinion, the role of the father, parents’ positive response to the situations of moral conflict, authoritative parenting style with warmth, positive relationship between parents and children, and parents’ training for their children to participate religious activities were effective for value education. Christian parents need to teach the hierarchy of values, the values of purpose rather than the values of means, intrinsic values rather than extrinsic values and universal values. The author suggested the content of Christian value education; Christian beliefs, mature intrinsic faith, Christian values, such as, love, peace, freedom, and justice based on Christian world view. She also suggested that Christian parents need to check on their value system and be mature enough to be the positive identification models for their children. Christian parents need to realize how the quality of child-rearing influences the value education and to have positive relationship with their children and to use concrete methods for value education.
