Abstract

Recently, many studies related to donation have been studying with spread of donation culture. It has already been shown that high moral identity positively influences donations However, there have been few studies on the effect of moral identity on donations, although there is only a positive effect in a situation where moral identity is high. Therefore, in this study, the purpose of the study is to identify the factors that may be positive for the donation even in the low moral identity group. Therefore, the first purpose of this study is to confirm that moral identity affects donations. Second, we want to confirm that karma belief can have a positive effect on donation in low moral. Finally, it confirms that the philanthropic awareness mediates when moral identity and karma belief affects donation. First, in order to confirm the purpose of the research, ANOVA analysis of moral identity and donation intention was conducted. As a result, we confirmed the results of the study in agreement with previous studies. Next, we confirmed the interaction effect between the 2x2 groups in which the moral identity and karma belief lead to positive donation roads. The results of the ANOVA showed that main effects of the karma and moral identity significant, and the interaction effect between variables was also significant. Finally, we examined the mediated moderation effect (PROCESS model 8) through bootstrapping to understand the mechanism that philanthropic awareness mediates moral identity, karma belief, and donation intention. As a result, The effect was confirmed. In conclusion, even if the moral identity is low, it can be positively influenced on donation intention if the karma belief is high, and it is confirmed that philanthropic awareness plays a mediating role as altruistic motivation factor. Based on these empirical analysis results, And suggests limitations and future research directions.
