Abstract

The Linguistic Association of Korea Journal, 12(4), 1-15. The aim of this paper is to find out what is the difference in the usage of two verbal forms of past tense. I will study the definition of 'pretérito indefinido' and 'pretérito imperfecto' from the aspectual and temporal viewpoint. I will analyse some theories of representative Spanish grammar, now that there are some mistakes in the theory of two verbal forms in past tense. It is sometimes difficult to determine these verbal forms, because the past tense is represented by two verbal forms in Spanish. From the aspectual viewpoint, I will find out the usage of these forms and explain the past tense and its aspect from a subjective viewpoint. Finally, this paper elucidates the distinctive feature at the usage of 'perteriro indefinido' and 'preteriro imperfecto' of past tense.
