대학생의 논증 문단 작성 실태와 지도 방안

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the paragraphs of the argumentative essays written by university students and to suggest the teaching programs to develop their paragraph writing skills. The analysis on the paragraphs of students shows that they frequently violate the general principles to develop paragraph: unity, coherence, emphasis. For example, they select supporting sentences which are not related with the topic sentence. Sometimes they make errors in using transition phrases and arranging the sentences. And they show unskillfulness to write topic sentence. To solve these problems, we suggest two kinds of teaching program. One is to teach them principles and methods of writing paragraphs. To do this, it is effective to teach them the conditions for the good paragraphs and to show them the model paragraphs, and to induce them to solve various exercise questions. The other is to have them to practice writing paragraphs, which is divided into 3 steps: planning, writing, evaluating. When we carry out this program, we emphasize on making paragraph outline for the quick and accurate writing.
