Abstract
With the recent development of the media environment and the increase in performance of mobile devices, various media have emerged, and the market for the over-the-top(OTT) services has particularly expanded rapidly, as the demand of viewers who want to watch video contents without physical confinements is satisfied in the online environment. In this context, our study aims to comprehensively analyze the factors affecting the intention to continue a OTT service subscription and indifference to alternatives, and expand the study on subscribers' attitude and behavior intention toward OTT service. In this study, we analyzed the structural relationships between perceived diagnosticity, perceived serendipity, use satisfaction, intention to continue a subscription and indifference to alternatives with recommendation agent characteristics(match score accuracy, recommended content variety, thumbnail image appeal) as leading variables, and the main results are as follows. First, recommended content variety and thumbnail image appeal have positive(+) effects on perceived diagnosticity and perceived serendipity. However, in the case of match score accuracy, it has a positive(+) effect on perceived diagnosticity, but it does not have significant effect on perceived serendipity. Second, perceived diagnosticity and perceived serendipity have positive(+) effects on use satisfaction. Finally, use satisfaction has a positive(+) effect on intention to continue a subscription and indifference to alternatives. This study is meaningful because it comprehensively investigated the effects of subscribers' attitudes and behaviors toward OTT services by considering not only the characteristics of OTT platform services but also search experiences and psychological factors in terms of consumers. In addition, based on the results of this study, it can provide practical guidelines to establishing effective platform management strategies for companies providing OTT services.
