This study aims to help foreignerslearn Korean vocabularieseasily by using antonyms. Because antonyms are basic materials for understanding the meanings of vocabularies, they are useful from the initial stage of vocabulary education. Using antonyms in Korean vocabulary education is effective when the students want to memorize the vocabularies quickly. We discussed three kinds of approaches to teaching antonyms. First, it is important to select the vocabulary list. The list of antonyms should be made on the basis of the vocabulary level evaluation criterion of the Korean language proficiency test. Second, it is important to divide the student sand text materials into beginning, intermediate,and advanced levels. Third, it is important to make asuitable teaching method for each level. We want this paper to contribute to the Korean vocabulary education in many ways.
