Abstract
This article aims at analyzing cultural influence on conflict and conflict resolution and thereafter presenting the tasks in pastoral counseling to improve effectiveness of conflict resolution and reconciliation. In collectivism, conflict is likely to be ignored or oppressed, so that it is not recognized well. Conflict emerges when harmony, equality, or seniority is violated. In individualism, conflict is tolerated well. Conflict emerges when fairness or equity is violated. In conflict resolution, avoidance is preferred in collectivism while confrontation is preferred in individualism.
