기독교 대학 채플 활성화 방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

In a Christian university, chapel is the most important tool implemented in order to maintain original ideology and Christian identity. However, in the majority of Christian universities, there are more than 60% non-Christian populations attending chapel. They have passive attendance and the universities do not have programs to meet their levels. As a result, they feel excluded towards Christianity. But chapel is a good opportunity for Christian students to develop their faith and non-Christian students to be introduced to the gospel and grow their Christian character.The purpose of this study is to investigate and evaluate the students' opinions in order to prepare basic materials about their cultural codes and circumstances to understand and meet the needs of the students. Also, based upon the students' demands and problems, we will prepare and develop appropriate programs to meet their expectations.In particular, this study is based upon the survey and assessment of Hyupsung University's student chapel conducted for two semesters in 2006. We believe that through this revitalization plan, it will be a chance for the community to transform their consciousness level and recover the identity of the Christian university.
