소그룹을 통한 대학선교 활성화의 대안모델 연구

Abstract

At the present time Hyupsung University has the student body, approximately 80% of which is comprised non-Christian students. Due to an existing curricular structure, they attend the chapel service, which is considered to be one of the significant factors conducive to the formation of a Christian character and its value orientation. Besides this, we have mandatory Christianity-related courses of which the majority of our non-Christian students are required to take in order to receive credits. This is a issue that goes against our university’s mission; it is our expressed goal and desire to overcome this difficulty. In order to achieve this, we are hoping to divide the large chapel with about a 1000 people from four different colleges and 27 different departments. To be more specific, we would like to create smaller chapels which will consist of about 80-120 students for each department. Also, to reinforce the atmosphere for students to overcome this general crisis, we suggest small group meetings with about 10-20 people that is led by alumni pastors. I believe that a small group are essential for discipleship in maintaining a Christian university and its identity. The purpose of this study is to focus on small group ministry. The study consists of three factors: (1) To study and analyze the problem, concern, and issues of a small group for the University mission. (2) To explore the practical understanding of the issues. (3) To develop programs to find answers for the problems; surveys and analyzation will be utilized to search for alternative models to achieve our university’s mission. Each student can sign up for a specific small group and each group will be used as a tool towards discipleship training and evangelizing our students. According to the result of the study, if we were to implement the incorporation of different small group for a year, it will be meaningful to see students prosper in faith, share their lives, care for each other, and serve others,which would be harder to achieve in a larger chapel setting. Also, for the alumni pastors who are accountable for taking care of a small group, it will be a good opportunity to serve, not only their university but also in participating in the university mission. It will also allow them to maximize the most important role, which is to build up the identity of the Christian university.
