김익두 목사의 신유부흥운동의 양상에 대한 역사적 연구－ 「기독신보」를 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 신유 부흥사로 유명했던 김익두 목사의 신유 발현의 양상을 역사적으로 살펴보는 것이다. 김익두의 부흥회에서의 신유는 1919년 말부터 나타났고, 「기독신보」는 그의 부흥회와 신유를 기사화하였다. 본 연구는 「기독신보」를 중심으로 1920-30년대에 그의 신유부흥운동이 지속되었는지를 다룬다. 먼저 「기독신보」에 나오는 김익두의 부흥회와 신유 기사의 수를 도표로 정리하였다. 신유의 기사는 1921년을 정점으로 감소하였다. 이러한 변화의 원인은 일반 사회의 김익두의 신유 사역에 대한 비판이었다. 그럼에도 실제 신유가 일어난 김익두의 집회는 지속되었으리라 판단할 수 있는데, 그 근거는 신유 집회에서만 볼 수 있는 천 명 이상의 대규모의 회집인원과 백 명 이상의 집단 개종이 1920-30년대에 그의 부흥회에서 계속되었다는 사실이다. 물론 1920년대 초에 보였던 백명 이상의 신유 경험자가 지속된 것은 아니다. 김익두의 부흥회에서 신유 경험자의 수는 줄었으나, 부흥회에서 신유 경험자가 계속 나왔다는 의미이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to historically examine the aspect of the manifestation of divine healing by Pastor Kim Ik Doo, who was famous for the divine healing revivalist. Kim Ik Doo’s divine healing at the revival meetings appeared from the end of 1919, and the Christian Messenger published his Revival meetings and divine healing. This study deals with whether his divine healing revival movement continued in the 1920s and 30s, focusing on the Christian Messenger. First, the number of Kim Ik Doo’s revival meeting and divine healing in the Christian Messenger is summarized in a chart. Articles of the divine healing declined at their peak in 1921. The cause of this change was criticism of Kim Ik Doo’s divine healing in general society. Nevertheless, it can be judged that the revival meetings of Kim Ik Doo, where divine healing actually took place, continued in the 1920s and 30s, with a large-scale revival meetings of more than 1,000 people and a numerous conversion of more than 100 people seen only in divine healing meetings. Of course, the healed of more than 100 people that appeared in the early 1920s did not persist. This means that the number of people who experienced divine healing at Kim Ik Doo’s revival meeting decreased, but the Kim Ik Doo’s revival meeting where divine healing took place continued.
