Abstract
This study examines Revelation 11:15–19 within its historical context, analyzing the theological significance of the term “earth”(γῆ) in relation to eschatological judgment and salvation. By engaging with the ecological dimensions of the text, this study situates the phrase “for destroying those who destroy the earth”(διαφθεῖραι τοὺς διαφθείροντας τὴν γῆν) within the framework of the Roman Empire's economic and military expansion, offering a historical-ecological perspective. Through thisapproach, the study elucidates the ecological implications embedded in the passage and argues that Revelation 11:15–19 is not merely a pronouncement of eschatological judgment but also an eco-theological proclamation of the restoration of the created order and the consummation of God's reign.
