〈血의 淚〉판본 연구: 형성과정 및 계보에 대한 비판적 고찰을 중심으로

<血의 淚> 판본 연구― 형성과정 및 계보에 대한 비판적 고찰을 중심으로강 현 조이인직의 <血의 淚>는 한국근대소설사의 첫머리에 위치한 중요한 신소설 텍스트이지만 그 판본의 형성과정에 대해서는 지금까지 정밀한 고찰이 이루어지지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 만세보에 최초로 연재된 이래로 현재까지 어떤 과정을 거쳐 <血의 淚>가 연구자 및 일반 독자들에게 하나의 텍스트로서 제시되었는가를 보이고 그 과정의 문제점을 비판적으로 고찰하였다. 특히 1912년에 간행된 동양서원본의 발견으로 인해 작가 생존 당시 총 3회의 단행본 발간이 이루어졌음을 확인할 수 있었으며, 또한 각각의 판본이 주목할 만한 개작의 양상을 보인다는 점에서 각 판본에 대한 정밀한 비교 검토가 요청된다. 1940년문장의 <血의 淚> 재(再)게재 이후 약 30년간은 동양서원본이 원본 텍스트의 역할을 하다가 1968년 광학서포본을 저본으로 한 을유문화사 전집본의 발간을 계기로 광학서포본이 원본 텍스트화하면서 학계의 연구자용 정전으로 사실상 자리잡게 된다. 그러나 동양서원본이 발견된 상황에서 광학서포본만을 연구자용 원본 텍스트로 간주하는 것은 문제가 적지 않은 바 이 논문에서는 이에 대한 상세한 고찰을 행했다. 최근에 나온 판본들 역시 만세보연재본이나 작가 생존 당시 발간된 단행본에 대한 정밀한 비교 · 대조 작업을 거치지 않았다는 점에서 <血의 淚> 원본 텍스트라 부를 만한 판본은 아직까지 없다고 할 수 있으며 이러한 문제 상황의 해결을 위한 학계의 다각적인 협력 방안이 모색되어야 할 필요가 있다
Abstract
A Study on <Hyulenu(Bitter Tears)>’s Block Books― Focus on Process of Construction and GenealogyKang Hyun ChoLee In Gik’s <Hyulenu(bitter tears)> is the important SINSOSEOL(early modern novel) which is marked at the top of a list in the history of Korean novel. However, it has not studied minutely how it’s canon text had been built. This study will investigate not only the origin that <Hyulenu(bitter tears)> was accepted as a canon text by researchers and readers since it was first serialized in MANSEBO, but also consider critically several points raised at the process to fix it. Through DONGYANGSEOWON edition published in 1912 this study confirmed that <Hyulenu(bitter tears)> had been published three in book form Lee In Gik’s lifetime. It is needed to compare these texts closely because they were adapted remarkably. After Republication in MUNJANG(1940), DONGYANGSEOWON edition and KWANGHAKSEOPO edition had been in circulation together during about 30 years.ULYUMOONHWASA’s complete edition in 1968 which adopted KWANGHAKSEOPO edition as a original copy served as a momentum that the latter took canon’s place for researchers. However, this has a lot of controversial points as a canon. Therefore this study will focus on inquiring into the striking differences revealed in adaptation. The newest editions are also published not to be compared or contrasted among texts. This fact means that they are not wordy to be approved as a canon text. Thus researchers should try to find a solution to this problem through a multilateral collaboration.
