기행시조의 창작 배경 및 특성 연구

본고에서는 기행시조의 개념 및 범주, 창작 배경, 장르적 특성 등을 살펴보았다. 기행시조의 개념은 ‘여행 체험의 내용을 시조 형식을 통해 구조화한 언어적 상관물’이라 규정하고, 그 범위를 ‘여행 중의 체험이나 견문, 감회 등을 읊은 시조’로 설정하였다. 기행시조가 주로 창작되고 불리는 상황은 승경처(勝景處)에서 감흥이 일 때, 유적 답사 후 회고의 정이 생길 때, 풍류를 즐길 때, 객회를 느낄 때 등이며 이는 작품의 내용과 밀접하게 관련됨을 파악하였다. 또한 기행시조는 ‘여행의 목적․동기+여행 과정․형태+감회’, ‘여정+목적지의 경관․느낌․목적지에서의 행위+감회’, ‘여정+여정+감회, 여정(감회)+여정(감회)+여정(감회)’ 등의 형태로 구성되어 있음을 밝히고, 여정을 나타내는 표지, 사실적․구체적 묘사, 장면의 독립, 주정적 독백 및 응축된 정서 표출 등의 서술 방식을 취하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이를 통해 기행시조는 여타 시조에 비해 객관적 사실에 대한 전언(傳言)이 많이 나타나지만, 궁극적으로는 작가의 정감이나 정서 표현을 지향한다는 점과 즉흥성과 현장성을 띠고 있다는 점에서 내면 의식을 지향하는 순수서정 장르임을 확인하였다.
Abstract
As a part of investigating the genre characteristics, this paper examined the concept, category, creative backgrounds, structure and the expressional features of the Kihaeng Sijo (Travel Sijo). The concept of the Travel Sijo could defined as recited the travel experience, knowledge, and the impressions. Travel Sijo is mainly written and sung in the situations, such as being inspired by the excellent scenery, being deeply moved by the exploring the ruins, enjoying the refinements, feeling the traveler’s melancholy. And this is closely related to the contents of the work. Also the types of Travel Sijo could be classified, such as ‘purpose and motive of the travel + travel course․type + retrospect’, ‘itinerary + view of destination․feeling․act in the destination + impression’, ‘introducing the concrete itinerary’ and et cetera. The characteristics of Travel Sijo are described as the expression on the itinerary, the realistic and concrete description, the independence of the scene, the emotional monolog, and the expression of the condensed sentiment. Compare with the other Sijo, Travel Sijo shows the more message on the objective fact. To the ultimate, Travel Sijo aims the expressing of the writer’s sentiment and emotion. And also it include the impromptus and the On-the-spotness.
