본 연구는 아시아와 남미에서 활동한 한인 디아스포라 여성 시인들의 작품을 통해 젠더적 정체성과 조국 이미지의 복합적 의미를 탐구하였다. 일본, 인도네시아, 아르헨티나라는 이주를 배경으로 이승순, 서미숙, 조미희의 시를 분석하며, 이 여성 디아스포라 시인들이 그 현지에서 자율적으로 정체성을 재구성하는 과정을 조명하였다. 이들의 시는 여성주의적 시선을 유지하면서도 디아스포라적 로컬리티를 드러내면서 기존 코리안디아스라의 문법을 한번 비껴가는 모습을 보여준다. 이와 관련하여 크게 세 가지가 드러났다. 첫째, 세 시인의 시에 나타난 그림자 모티프로서 잡힐 듯 잡히지 않는 이중적 신체로 기능하고 있다는 점이다. 둘째, 각 시인은 그 정체성을 연극적 공간에서 수행한다는 점이다. 셋째, 이들은 재래적인 조국 이미지를 시선과 응시의 변증법으로 접근함으로써 기존 코리안 디아스포라의 경계 담론을 넘어설 또 다른 실마리를 보여준다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 한인 여성 디아스포라 시인들의 작품을 통해 젠더적 정체성과 디아스포라적 위치성이 서로 엮이는 지점을 관찰하였고, 그에 입각한 코리안 디아스포라 문학의 또 하나의 경로를 제시하려 하였다.
Abstract
This study explores the complex meanings of gender identity and the image of the homeland through the works of Korean diaspora women poets active in Asia and South America. By analyzing the poetry of Lee Seung-soon, Seo Mi-sook, and Cho Mi-hee against the backdrop of their migrations to Japan, Indonesia, and Argentina, this research illuminates the process by which these diaspora women poets autonomously reconstruct their identities in their respective local contexts. Their poetry maintains a feminist perspective while simultaneously revealing the local contexts of diaspora, deviating from the established framework of Korean diaspora literature. In this context, three key findings emerge. First, the shadow motif in the poems functions as a dual and intangible embodiment.Second, each poet constructs their identity within a performative space.Third, they engage with the traditional image of the homeland through a dialectical interplay of gaze and perception,thereby offering a new trajectory that transcends the conventional boundary discourses of Korean diaspora literature. In conclusion, this study observes the intersections of gender identity and diasporic positionality in the works of Korean diaspora women poets and aims to propose an alternative pathway for Korean diaspora literature based on these insights.
