Currently they are directly exposed to a variety of chemicals in theaquatic environment throughout their life cycle. Azole fungicides have been widely used inmedical applications and agricultural activities. The direct exposure of azole fungicides causes analarming situation for various ecosystem. Recently, teratogenesis and endocrine disruption byazole fungicides have been reported in amphibians. In an effort to provide the current informationfor amphibian toxicity of azole fungicides and to make the guidelines for safe usage of azolebasedmaterials, the effects of azole fungicides including imidazole, triazole, thiazole, oxazole, andpyrazoleon on early development, differentiation and reproduction of amphibians were reviewed.
