Abstract

Recent studies on the adoption of new technology have been based mainly on TAMmodel. This study introduces the construct of technology readiness of people proposedby Parasuraman(2000). Optimism, innovativeness, discomfort, and insecurity identifiedas dimensions of technology readiness are hypothesized to influence technostress androle stress, and then organizational effectiveness. Data are collected through the surveyfrom public institution' staff who have used new technology such as groupware andcloud computing, and analyzed using the spss. The major findings of this study are as follows: First, discomfort and insecurity wasfound to have a positive influence on technostress. Optimism and innovation factorsare found insignificant, though. Second, technostress has a positive effect on the rolestress. Finally, technostress and role stress have not significant effect on theorganizational effectiveness. Implications and future study suggestions are discussedand suggested.
