초록
This study was investigated the influence of cover crops on the occurrence of major insect pests and their natural enemies in pepper field. In 2017, hairy vetch, common sage, and crimson clover were grown as cover crops in a pepper cultivation field, and pests and natural enemies were investigated. When the maximum density of aphids was 1.5 per leaf in the plot covered with plastic film, the densities were 0.02 to 0.03 in the three legume-covered plots. When the maximum density of thrips was 1.6 per flower in the plastic film plot, the densities were 0.2 to 0.6 in the other plots. In 2018 and 2019, the occurrence of aphids and thrips was lower in hairy vetch cultivation plots covered with plastic film covering 30 to 90 cm wide around the crops than in the full plastic film plots. Except for the high occurrence of ladybugs in the covered plots in early June 2018, the occurrence of ladybugs was higher in the control plots. The growth and production of pepper crops increased as the width of the plastic film covering increased when the vinyl covering area was covered with 30 to 90 cm width. Populations of aphids and thrips were maintained lower on cover crop plots than plastic film plots. The peak occurrence time of ladybugs coincided with the peak of aphids.
