초등학교 도덕교과서에 제시된 도덕적 감정 관련 내용 분석 -동정심을 중심으로-

도덕교육은 도덕성의 원천으로서 이성과 함께 도덕적인 감성을 인정해야 한다. 도덕적인 감정인 동정심, 배려, 사랑, 인자함, 자비 등의 호혜적 및 이타적 감정을 도덕적 동기부여 수단으로 활용해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 도덕성의 구성요소 중 도덕적 감정의 구성요소인 동정심을 중심으로 7차 교육과정안에 따른 초등학교 도덕교과서를 분석하였다. 그 결과 도덕성의 감정적인 요소인 동정심과 관련한 도덕교과서의 교과내용이 아동의 발달단계에 맞는 내용 선정의 지침을 제시하고, 바람직한 도덕교과서의 구성과 교재개발의 방향을 제시하고자 했다. 또한 앞으로 시행될 개정교육과정이 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하고자 했다. 동정심과 관련된 제재를 분석한 결과 전체적으로는 동정심과 관련된 개념적인 지식이 현 교과서에는 거의 다뤄지지 않고 있다. 타인배려를 가치덕목으로 하는 단원에서 문제제시를 위한 예화나 감동의 예화 중심으로 다루어지고 있는 것이 대부분이다. 그러나 동정심 그 자체를 다루면 학생들이 동정심과 관련된 다른 여러 정서들을 구분할 뿐 아니라, 왜 그러한 정서를 갖게 되었는지 알게 하는 기회를 많이 줄 수 있어 자신 및 타인의 정서 상태에 대해 이해하도록 큰 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 인지적 측면을 다루는 1차시는 동정심 그 자체를 인식하고 다룰 수 있는 부분이 더 많이 설정되어야 한다. 정의적 측면의 2차시 내용 구성은 고정된 틀만 유지할 것이 아니라 해당 가치 덕목에 맞게 다양한 측면의 다양한 사례들이 다루어질 수 있게 바뀌어야 하겠다. 또한 우리 사회가 직면한 현실적인 문제와 연관하여 아동들의 동정심을 유발할 수 있어야 할 것이다. 실천적인 측면을 다루는 3차시에서 아동들이 누군가의 감정을 직접 경험할 수 있다면 다른 사람들의 감정에 더 잘 공감할 수 있을 것이며 측은지심의 동정심이 잘 개발될 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 다양한 동정심을 일으키는 체험을 할 수 있는 기회의 제공이 중요하다.
Abstract
Moral Education as a source of morality should acknowledge moral emotion with reason. Moral Education should use mutual, altruistic moral emotions - compassion, consideration, benevolence, love, mercy etc - as moral motivation method. This study analyzed moral education textbooks oriented for the elementary school- compassion which is the constituent element of morality and moral emotion according to 7th curriculum plan. The results that through this study is to suggest the guiding principle of content selection which the content of moral education textbooks related to the compassion of emotional element of morality is appropriate to the step of the children development as well as to suggest the direction about material development of moral education textbooks. Besides, I suggested developing direction of the will-be progressing revised curriculum. The result analyzed stuffs related to compassion shows that conceptive knowledge related to compassion is rarely touched in the used textbooks. In the chapter about value element of altruistic consideration, most things are moving fables or fables to suggest the problem. But compassion itself, if touched, the pupils can distinguish a verity of different emotions related to that emotion, and can receive the much opportunity to know why the pupils have so emotion. And it will help the pupils understand themselves and other peoples' emotion condition. Therefore, the 1st step touched cognition side is recognized compassion itself and should be set touched part very much. In the 2nd step of oriented- affections, form of content composition shouldn't follow the present fixed form but should be changed to a variety of examples, activities which are appropriate to value items. Also, it should motive the children's compassion related to the realistic problems to face our society. In the 3rd step touched active side, if children experienced directly other's emotion, they can feel sympathy well about other's emotion, and can develop compassion of benevolence well. As a result, it is important for pupils to provide the opportunity to undergo a variety of experience.
