본 연구는 인공지능 윤리 담론 안에 철학적 성찰로서 윤리적 논의가 결여되어 있다는 문제의식에서 출발하여, 이러한 문제가 인공지능 윤리학 고유의 인식론적, 의미론적 어려움에서 기인함을 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 인공지능 윤리학은 현존하는 인공지능 기술의 윤리적 문제와 대부분은 실존하지 않는 미래의 잠재적 윤리적 문제를 포괄하여 다룬다. 이로 인해, 인공지능 윤리학은 규범적 논의를 위한 윤리적 문제를 설정하는 데서부터 인식론적 어려움에 부딪힌다. 또한, 인공지능에서 주요하게 사용되는 지능적 에이전트(intelligent agent)의 개념은 다른 분야에서 사용되는 개념과 달라 논의의 혼란을 일으킨다.
Abstract
This study starts with a awareness of the lack of ethical discussion as a philosophical reflection within discourses of artificial intelligence ethics. The purpose of this study is to reveal that those problems stem from epistemological and semantic difficulties that artificial intelligence ethics has. Artificial intelligence ethics encompasses existing ethical problems for artificial intelligence technology and potential ethical problems in the future. For those reasons, artificial intelligence ethics has epistemological difficulties from establishing ethical issues in terms of normative discussion. In addition, there are semantic problems that the meaning of the term "intelligent agent" used in the field of artificial intelligence is conceptually different from other academic fields.
