비트겐슈타인은 기초론과 정합론 등의 전통적 인식론에서 전제해왔던 것과 달리 정당화가 명제들 사이의 문제로 국한되지 않는다는 것, 확실성을 증가시켜주지 않는다면 정당화가 아니라는 것, 그리고 진리가 세계상 의존적이라는 것 등을보여주었다. 그에 따르면 세계상을 나타내는 명제인 세계상명제는 어떤 다른 명제들에 기초하고 있는 것이 아니라 맹목적인 행동방식에 기초하고 있다. 이는 가장 지성적으로 보이는 것이 가장 동물적으로 보이는것 또는 가장 본능적으로 보이는 것에 기초하고 있음을 나타내는 것이다.
Abstract
Wittgenstein showed that cognitive justification is not limited to therelation between propositions, justification is not achieved withoutincreasing certainty, and truth is dependant on world-picture. Accordingto him, world-picture propositions which represents the picture of theworld and support truths is based on not any other propositions butthe very blind ways of behavior. This manifests that which seemsmost intelligent is based on which seems most animal and instinctive.
