시몽동과 스티글레르의 기술철학은 기술적 환경을 인간 삶의 근본 조건으로 긍정하면서도, 현대 소비자본주의가 강요하는 파편화된 개인주의와 탈-공동체화가 아닌, 개체들 간의 진정한 소통과 이에 근거한 개체초월적인 집단성의 생산 가능성을 사유한다는 점에서 주목할 필요가 있다. 시몽동이 정보기술의 등장과 더불어 인간과 기술적 대상이 전개체적 실재에 근거하여 상호 협력적으로 공진화하는 개체초월적 세계의 가능성을 제시했다면, 스티글레르는 시몽동 이후 하이퍼-산업화된 디지털 네트워크 시스템에 의해 불가능해진 심리적-집단적-기술적 개체화의 회복을 촉구했다. 노동공동체와 통제사회를 넘어서 시몽동의 개체초월적인 정신적-집단적 문화를 실현하기 위해서는 기술 매체의 독성을 치료약으로 전환시키기 위한 스티글레르의 비판적 리터러시가 필수적이다. 시몽동의 ‘기술과 개체초월성’에 대한 존재론적 사유는 스티글레르의 ‘관개체화와 기술의 파르마콘 정치학’으로 계승되면서 오늘날의 자동기계화 사회에 대항하는 실천적 대안으로 등장하고 있다.
Abstract
Simondon and Stiegler are noteworthy that their philosophies of technology affirms the technological environment as the fundamental condition of human life and they contemplate the possibility of producing transindividual collectivity instead of the fragmented individualism and decommunitization imposed by modern consumption capitalism. While Simondon presented the transindivual world in which humans and technical objects coevolve cooperatively based on the preindividual potentiality in the emergence of information technology, Stigler urged the recovery of the psycho-collective-technical individuation that has become impossible due to the hyper-industrialized digital network system appeared after the time Simondon lived. Stigler's critical literacy to transform the toxicities of the technical media into remedies is essential to realize Simondonian transindividual culture that overcomes the labor community and the control society. Simondon's ontological thought about the ‘technology and transindividuality’ is emerging as a practical alternative solution to the problems of today’s automated mechanization society as it is inherited by Stigler’s ‘transindividuation and the politics of technology’s pharmakon’.
