본 연구는 Rogers(1995)의 혁신의 확산 이론을 바탕으로 초등교사에게 e-러닝이 어떻게 확산․채택되고 있는지를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 대구․경북지역에 소재하고 있는 초등학교 교사 285명을 대상으로 조사연구를 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개인배경변인 중 연령, 근무지, 경력, 정보화연수가 e-러닝 채택자 범주에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 조기 채택자와 후기 채택자의 경우, e-러닝의 인지경로는 채택자 범주에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었는데, 자발적 관심과 정보화 교육이 주요 경로로 밝혀졌다. e-러닝의 채택요인은 혁신성, 컴퓨터 리터러시, 적합성, 상대적 이점에서 차이가 있었으며, 조기 채택자가 후기 채택자보다 채택요인을 더 긍정적으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 현채택자와 채택 중단자의 경우에도 범주에 따라 e-러닝의 인지경로는 유의미한 차이가 나타났는데 정보화 교육이 주요 경로로 밝혀졌다. e-러닝의 채택요인은 혁신성, 주관적 판단, 적합성, 상대적 이점, 시행가능성, 관찰가능성에서 차이가 있었으며, 현채택자가 채택 중단자보다 채택요인을 더 긍정적으로 인식하고 있었다. 넷째, 조기채택 여부를 결정짓는 요인은 컴퓨터 리터러시, 혁신성, 주관적 판단으로 드러났고, 다섯째 채택중단여부를 결정 하는 주요한 요인은 적합성으로 밝혀졌다. 끝으로 e-러닝 비채택자는 e-러닝에 대한 인지부족을 혁신의 비채택 요인으로 꼽았으며, 향후 지속적인 혁신 채택의 거부의사를 보였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this research was to examine the diffusion and adoption of e-learning among elementary school teachers based on the theory of diffusion of innovation by Rogers(1995). For this purpose, the study conducted survey research with 285 elementary school teachers. The results of the research was as follows: First, the personal background variables such as age, workplace, teaching career, and training information had a significant impact on the e-learning adopters category (the early adopter, the late adopter, the adopter who stopped in the middle, and laggards). Second, in case of the early and late adopters, the adopters category had a significant impact on the e-learning awareness path. Also the adopters category had a significant impact on the e-learning adoption factors, including innovativeness, computer literacy, compatibility, relative advantage. It showed that the early adopters had a more positive attitude toward the adoption factors than the late adopters. Third, in the cases of current adopters and adopters who stopped in the middle, there was a statistically significant difference in the e-learning awareness path in which training information was revealed as a main path. The current adopters were more positive than the adopters who stopped in the middle in the e-learning adoption factors including innovativeness, subjective norm, compatibility, the relative advantage, and trialability and observability. Fourth, computer literacy, innovativeness, and subjective norm were shown as factors determining early adoption. Fifth, compatibility was revealed as a main factor determining stopping adoption. Finally, e-learning non-adopters indicated insufficient knowledge about e-learning as the biggest reason why not selecting e-learning, and showed the denial of adopting e-learning in the future.
