도시 공원에서의 체계적인 환경체험교육 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구: 서울 남산 야외식물공원을 중심으로

Abstract

Korea has developed a wide range of environment experience education programs and materials, but the program validity analysis results supported by the Environment Ministry have identified a problem of imbalance among the goals of environment education. Thus this study set out to develop an environment experience education program of the Namsan Park, supplement and improve the problem with Korea's current environment experience education, and present useful results by running the Namsan program consisting of three-hour activities. By consulting the previous studies on urban parks, the investigator identified implications and points to consider for the environment experience education program of the Namsan Park. By analyzing the functions of the park as a venue of environment education and the demands of participants, I developed an environment experience education program of the Namsan Park with original contents. In addition, I designed a model for the program based on the environment-friendly behavior variables of the Environment-Friendly Behavior Model by Hungerford and Volk(1990) and on the ADDIE model by Seels and Richey(1994). As a result, a structurized Namsan Park program model was developed considering the balance among the goals of environment education. The operation of the program led to the following results; the balance among the goals of environment education was promoted by the improved environment-friendly behavior variables. In addition, by reflecting the student demands in deciding teaching methods and subjects and taking into account the functions of the Namsan Park as a venue of environment and culture education in organizing the program contents, I was able to induce more active participation of the students in the program, which in turn had positive impacts on the promotion of the goals of environment education. And the students were able to obtain practical “knowledge” and “functions” concerning the protection of the park’s wild plants and animals through the Namsan Park activities and showed changes to their environment-friendly “attitudes and actions.” For the growth of environment experience education in future, there is a need to develop and distribute systematic environment education programs to make use of the venues of environment education with well preserved environment and cultural aspects.
