현재 우리 사회는 가속적 지구화 추세 속에서 다양한 복합적 사회 갈등이 심화 되고 있으며, 이로 인해 사회적 통합 능력과 연대는 급속히 훼손되고 있는 것으로 보인다. 최근의 금융위기 이후 더욱 가속화 되고 있는 중산층의 붕괴와 빈곤층의 확대는 경제적 불평등을 심화시키고 있으며, 시장중심의 경쟁과 효율성 논리의 강화는 사회문화적 삶에 대한 물화를 야기하고, 왜곡된 문화 질서는 다양한 소수자에 대한 무시를 산출하고 있다. 또한 이러한 기층적인 사회적 삶의 조건에서 나타나는 변화 양상들이 우리 사회의 고유한 기존 갈등구조들과 결합되면서, 우리 사회는 오늘날 ‘압축갈등’ 사회의 양상을 드러내고 있는 것으로 보인다. 이 글의 목적은 한국사회의 복합적 갈등구조를 해명하고, 이에 기초하여 우리 사회의 ‘민주적 연대’를 촉진하는 방향과 과제들을 검토하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 이글은 먼저 우리가 지향하는 민주적인 사회적 연대란 무엇인가에 대한 개념적 고찰을 시도하고자 한다. 그리고 이에 기초하여 이러한 민주적 연대를 훼손하는 사회적 부정의와 그에 대한 사회적 저항과 갈등 양상들에 대해서 먼저 이론적 측면에서 검토할 것이다. 다음으로 이러한 작업을 토대로 경제적 불평등, 문화적 무시, 삶의 물화라는 구별에 입각하여 우리 사회의 구체적 사회 갈등 양상들에 대 해서 검토할 것이다. 마지막으로 이러한 작업의 의미를 밝히고, 우리 사회의 구조적 갈등들을 극복하기 위한 방향과 과제들을 검토하는 것으로 결론을 대신하고자 한다. 이러한 작업은 먼저 우리 사회의 갈등요인들을 범주적으로 구별하고, 이러한 갈 등들이 현재의 사회변동 추세와 어떤 연관 하에 있는지, 그리고 무엇이 사회구조적인 근본적 갈등요인들인 지를 식별하는 데 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 나아가서 이러한 작업은 오늘날 다양한 사회적 저항들이 연대할 수 있는 지점들을 모색하는 데에도 역시 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
In our society complex social conflicts are emerging in the context of accelerating globalization, so the capacity of social integration and the solidarity are diminishing rapidly. The fall of the middle class and the expansion of the poor are deepening a maldistribution, the strengthening of the logic of competition and efficacy are bringing about a reification of life, and a distorted culture is causing a disrespect to the minority. The aim of this thesis is to clarify the conflict structure of our society and to suggest the orientation and the tasks for strengthening democratic social solidarity. For this aim, firstly, I examined the concept of democratic solidarity. Based on it, I explained the concept of social injustices, which destruct social solidarity, and the struggles for overcoming these injustices in the theoretical dimension. Secondly, based on the conceptual distinction of economic maldistribution, cultural disrespect and reification of life, I surveyed the concrete modes of social conflicts of our society. Finally, I explained the meanings of this work and suggested the principal tasks for overcoming our social conflicts. This work can contribute to distinguishing the causes of social conflicts categorically, explaining the relation between these conflicts of our society and the general trends of changes in contemporary societies, and showing the fundamental causes of social conflicts. Further, this work can contribute to the solidarity of plural social protests in our society.
