이 연구에서는 과학고등학교와 외국어고등학교, M고등학교 등 총 739명 학생을 대상으로 하여 창의성검사와 적성검사, 그리고 고등학교 입학 전형요소의 과학분야와 언어분야 학생들의 학업성취에 대한 영향력이 분석되었다. 분석결과는 언어, 수리, 공간, 과학 영역의 적성검사 점수와 유창성, 융통성, 독창성 등의 창의성검사 점수가 과학분야와 언어분야 학생들의 학업성취도에 대한 영향력이 크고, 입학전형 요소 중에서 중학교 내신과 실기는 학업성취도에 대한 영향력이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과에 따라 고등학교 입학 연령 학생들을 대상으로 과학과 언어분야의 영재들을 선발하기 위한 효과적인 판별방법이 논의되었다.
Abstract
Student selection is one of the most important issues for high school gifted education. The purpose of the present study is to compare the relative effects of the tests used for admission of special purpose high schools to the effects of aptitude test and the creativity test on the academic achievement scores in high school. High school aptitude test developed by Korean Education Development Institute and Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking: Thinking Creatively with Words were used for the purpose. The scores of the tests for admission, aptitude test, creativity test, and academic achievement of 739 students from two Science High Schools, one Foreign Language High School, and M Leadership Academy were examined. The results show that the effect of the aptitude test on the academic achievement in high school was larger than that of the tests used for high school admission in all four high schools, and the effect of the creativity test on the academic achievement in high school was larger than that of the tests used for admission in four high schools.
