‘초등학교로의 전이’를 인식하는 관점 탐색

초록

본 연구는 ‘초등학교로의 전이’를 어떻게 이해 할 것인가 하는 문제를 다루었는데, 특히 전제와 구심점을 밝혔다. 이를 위해서 전이 현상에 대한 이론적 패러다임과 국내 선행 연구를 검토하여 초등학교로의 전이를 인식 해 온 관점을 탐색하였다. 연구 결과, 전이를 인식하는 패러다임은 전이를 문화 적응 과정, 생활세계의 확대에 따른 관계 및 심리 특성, 유치원에서 초등학교를 잇는 징검다리 놓기로 이해하도록 안내해 왔음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 국내 연구는 유치원의 전이 활동을 ‘준비’, 초등학교의 전이 활동을 ‘적응’ 개념을 중심으로 이해하도록 이끌어 왔음을 알 수 있었다. 이에 초등학교로의 전이를 좀 더 심층적으로 이해하기 위해서, 유치원에서의 전이활동과 초등학교에서의 전이활동의 차이를 중심으로 한 초점, 개념 구분이 필요하며, 이런 방향에서 유치원과 초등학교를 잇는 징검다리 규명과 유치원과 초등학교에서의 전이활동에 대한 정향을 설정할 필요가 있음을 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study aimed to regard ‘How to understand the transition to elementary school.’ For this, the study explored theoretical paradigms and domestic prior studies of the transition, then discussed 4 distinct viewpoints of the transition to elementary school. Studies about the transition guided us to cultural adaptation process(cultural approach), particular psychological phenomenon accordingly to life world expansion(psychological approach), and living as a member of a new society(sociological approach). Also, domestic prior studies described transition to kindergarten as ‘preparation’ and transition to elementary school as ‘adaptation.’ Thus, transition to elementary school needs to be understood as a honeymoon, and then as a cultural shock or crisis in the elementary school, which these shock and adaptation would rather be real than a mere maladjustment. Secondly, the transition can be observed mainly as a transition during the kindergarten years and a change in the elementary school. Thirdly, the studies needed to discover a switching frame integrating two dimensions after exploring the kindergarten and elementary school transitions. Lastly, the study made it clear that approach to kindergarten transition was positive sentiment and congratulating perspective protecting excitements and expectations toward the school life.
