본 연구의 목적은 부모의 훈육방식이 유아의 자율성과 자아탄력성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는 것이다. 본 연구의 대상은 인천에 소재한 H유치원에 재원중인 만 3∼5세 유아 201명과 그들의 부모이다. 본 연구를 위해 부모에게 질문지를 배부하여 부모의 훈육행동에 대해 솔직하게 응답해 줄 것을 요청하였으며 유아의 자율성과 자아탄력성에 대해 신뢰롭게 평정해 줄 것을 부탁하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23 WINDOW용 프로그램을 사용하여 상관분석과 단계적 다중회귀분석을 통해 분석되었다. 연구에서 나타난 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 타인지향적 귀납과 규범지향적 귀납 훈육방식은 유아의 자율성에 정적 영향을 미쳤으나, 아버지의 권력단언과 애정철회 훈육방식은 자율성에 부적 영향을 나타내었다. 둘째, 어머니의 규범지향적 귀납, 어머니의 타인지향적 귀납, 아버지의 자기지향적 귀납 훈육방식은 유아의 자아탄력성에 정적 영향을 미쳤으나, 어머니의 애정철회와 아버지의 권력단언 훈육 방식은 유아의 자아탄력성에 부적 영향을 나타내었다. 이상의 결과들은 유아의 자율성을 높이기 위해서는 어머니는 타인지향적 귀납과 규범지향적 귀납 훈육방식을 많이 사용하고 아버지는 권력단언과 애정철회 훈육방식을 지양해야 하며, 유아의 자아탄력성을 높이기 위해서는 어머니는 규범지향적 귀납과 타인지향적 귀납을 많이 사용하고 애정철회 훈육 방식을 지양해야 하며 아버지는 자기지향적 귀납 훈육방식을 많이 사용하고 권력단언의 훈육방식을 지양해야 한다는 것을 시사한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of parents’ discipline style on their child’s autonomy and ego-resiliency. The subjects of the study were 201 three to five-year-old children attending H private preschools located in Incheon, and their parents. Parents responded for the questionnaires of parents’ discipline style, their child’s autonomy and ego-resiliency. Parents were asked to answer honestly for their disciplines style and to rate reliably for their child’s autonomy and ego-resiliency. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson’s correlation and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS 23 WINDOW program. The results of the study were summarized as follows. First, the mothers’ other-oriented induction and norm-oriented induction had positive effects on their child’s autonomy, while the fathers’ power assertion and love withdrawal discipline style affected negatively their child’s autonomy. Second, the mothers’ norm-oriented induction and other-oriented induction, the fathers’ self-oriented induction had positive effects on their child’s ego resiliency. The fathers’ power assertion and the mothers’ love withdrawal, however, affected negatively their child’s ego resiliency. These results imply that mothers’ use of other-oriented induction and norm-oriented induction discipline style can improve their child’s autonomy and fathers’ use of power assertion and love withdrawal discipline style can lower their child’s autonomy, and that mothers’ use of other-oriented induction and norm-oriented induction discipline style and fathers’ use of self-oriented induction can improve their child’s ego-resiliency and fathers’ use of power assertion and mothers’ love withdrawal can lower their child’s ego-resiliency.
