Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the latent profiles of gifted behavioral characteristics among students in a science and technology specialized university and to examine the differences in college life adjustment, stress, test anxiety, and career decisiveness according to the derived profiles. A survey of 591 university students revealed three latent groups: below-average (12.0%), average (61.9%), and high learning-motivation (26.0%) types. Results revealed that the high learning-motivation group showed higher college life adjustment and career decisiveness compared to other groups, but also experienced the highest levels of stress. Conversely, test anxiety was significantly higher in the below-average and average groups compared to the high learning-motivation group. Results indicate that gifted behavioral characteristics in these specialized universities are not homogeneous, with each profile showing distinct patterns in academic, psychological, and career-related aspects. This research contributes to understanding the diverse characteristics of students in the science and technology specialized university and informs the development of targeted interventions.
