Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop teaching strategies based on instructional preferences of the gifted-in-science. To analyze characteristics of the gifted-in-science related to science learning, instructional styles, learning environments and scientific attitudes they prefer were investigated. As results, it was revealed that the gifted-in-science preferred the variety of teaching methods, self-directed learning, complex thinking, and problem solving. They specially showed a great deal of interests in science, well-developed critical attitudes, creativities and tenacity. On the basis of their characteristics in science teaching, TSBCG teaching strategy was suggested. TSBCG stands for 'Teaching Strategy Based on Characteristics of Gifted-in-science'. TSBCG include 5 strategies: self-directed learning, low leveled structured instruction, high level of thinking, creative thinking and cooperative problem solving.
