중？고등학생들의 과학 교과에 대한 학습동기의 수준 비교

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate secondary school students' level learning motivational level in science. The questionnaire to survey for motivation level of them was developed on the basis of Keller's ARCS(Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction) Model. Data were collected form 1,082 secondary students of eight middle and eight high schools(male: 588, female: 494) in Daejeon metropolitan city and Chungnam area. The level of learning motivation in science was not high. The motivational level of secondary students in large town was higher than that of secondary students in small town(p<0.05), and middle school students have higher level of learning motivation in science than high school students. But, the learning motivational level wasn't significantly different between male and female students(p>0.05). The highest motivation factor was satisfaction, and the lowest was attention. These results suggested that the strategic orientation should be needed to arouse students' learning motivation in science education, and especially to motivate attention of motivational factors.
