연구 목적: 이 연구는 공동체의 환대적 본질을 살펴봄으로써 특정한 기독교 신앙에 기반한 교회라는 공동체성을 잃지 않으면서, 동시에 보편적 공동체성과의 연결을 검증하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 방법: 인간의 실존, 특히 예술의 철학적 고찰을 통해 개인과 공동체의 관계를 탐구하고, 그로부터 도출된 환대의 덕목을 보편적 공동체의 기준으로 가정하는 일련의 연구가설을 설정하였다. 분석 대상은 예술, 특히 음악과 전통으로 상정했으며, 교회 공동체로의 적용을 위해서는 토마스 아퀴나스의 삼위일체 신학에 토대를 두어 스탠리 하우어워스의 윤리학적인 변용을 모색하였다. 연구 내용: 인간과 공동체 사이의 관계의 역동성과 관계성을 기반으로 공동체의 환대적 특성을 알아본다. 공동체의 본질이자 실천인 환대가 어떻게 개인과 공동체에 역동적이고 관계적으로 연결되는지 주장해 나간다. 이러한 환대의 공동체가 교회 공동체와 어떻게 연결되는지 살펴본다. 결론 및 제언: 환대는 공동체적 본질로서 기독교 교회 공동체와 연결되며 그로써 비폭력의 환대는 교회로 하여금 시민사회와 공존할 뿐만 아니라 서로를 환대할 수 있다. 기독교 신앙의 근본인 삼위일체 하나님의 역동성과 관계에 근거한 교회 공동체는 환대의 노력을 넓혀가야만 한다.
Abstract
This research purposes to examine the nature of hospitality and to propose the community ethics for Korean Protestant Church. This article studies the philosophical understanding of hospitality and the virtue of hospitality from the analysis is the principle of community. The object of this analysis is art, particularly music. After this analysis, this study delves into Stanley Hauerwas’ theological ethics based on Thomas Aquinas’ trinitarian theology to apply the principle to the church. This study examines the communal character of hospitality based on the relational dynamics and relationships between humans and the community. Finally, this article argues how hospitality which is the nature and practice of community, dynamically and relationally, is connected to individuals and a community. Thus, this paper concludes that hospitality as the essence of the community is related to the church, and non-violent hospitality helps the church to live together with otherworldly communities and to welcome each other.
