오늘날 한국 사회는 이념, 세대 간, 계층, 성별, 민족 갈등, 교회 분열, 생태계 파괴, 성 차별, 연령 차별, 인종 차별 등 다양한 갈등에 직면해 있다. 차별, 배제와 혐오, 무관심과 공격적인 적대감, 분열이라는 특징들도 현대 한국 사회에서 갈등의 현실이다. 이러한 상황에서 교회 공동체는 그들이 사는 문화와 교회 정체성을 회복하고 조화시키도록 요청받는다. 또한 하나님의 정의로운 사회적 이상(vision)과 열정(passion)의 본질에 더욱 집중하도록 요청받는다. 이 글의 목적은 예배의 실행과 경험을 통한 정의, 갈등 치유, 문화 변혁을 제안하는 것이다. 이를 위해 첫째, 신앙 공동체는 다 감각 중심의 예배 실행을 통해 반복적인 공동체 기억과 경험이 필요하다. 그 방향과 목표는 치유, 화해, 그리고 변혁이다. 둘째, 신앙 공동체의 예배는 본질에서 사랑, 정의, 평화, 포괄적 복지, 연민, 풍요, 그리고 상호성에 초점을 맞추어 그들이 사는 문화와 다른 차이를 만들기 위해 끊임없이 개혁하고 변화해야 한다. 이 목표를 이루기 위해 이 글은 공동체 예배 실행과 경험의 세 가지 차원, 즉 예배와 삶, 이야기 그리고 전인적 예술과의 상호 작용을 제시한다. 이러한 목표를 수용함으로써 이 글은 독자들이 한국 사회의 갈등 및 차별의 문화를 개혁하고 변혁하기 위해 비판적으로 생각하고 판단하여 실천할 수 있기를 기대한다.
Abstract
Contemporary Korean society faces various conflicts: ideological, intergenerational, class, gender, ethnic conflicts, church division, the destruction of ecosystems, sexism, ageism, racism, and so forth. There are other pressing issues in contemporary Korean society: discrimination, exclusion and prejudice, segregation, indifference and aggressive hostility. This cultural context requires church communities to restore and reconcile their Christian identities with their culture. Christian churches also need to be more intensely focused on the substance of God’s social vision and passion for justice. In this respect, this article addresses the worship practices that call church communities to do justice, heal conflicts, and transform culture. Firstly, the community of faith needs to experience repetitive communal remembrance through multi-sensory oriented worship practices. Its purpose and goal are healing, reconciliation, and transformation. Secondly, the worship of the community of faith should continuously reform and change to create a difference for the culture they live in by intentionally focusing on love, justice, peace, inclusive well-being, compassion, abundance, and mutuality. To accomplish these goals, this article articulates three intersections between culture and worship: daily life, God’s stories and our stories, and the holistic arts. By embracing these goals, this article hopes readers will critically think, judge, and act in the quest to reform and transform their discriminatory practices within one’s culture.
