성과 결혼에 관한 기독교 윤리적 해석 -동성애와 동성혼 문제를 중심으로-

본 연구는 성서적 선언에 비추어 인간의 성과 결혼에 대하여 기독교적 관점에서 진술하고, 이에 기반하여 오늘의 시대 속에서 제기되는 성 윤리적 이슈인 동성애 및 동성혼의 문제를 평가해 보았다. 연구결과 기독교적 진술에서 발견되는 ‘성과 결혼 규범’에 관한 주요 원칙은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성과 결혼은 ‘이성애적 결합’으로 ‘남자’와 ‘여자’로서의 인간 창조 안에서 부동의 확고한 원리로 설정되었다는 것이다. 둘째, 하나님이 창조의 때에 제정하신 결혼은 ‘일부일처제의 연합’으로 설계되었다는 것이다. 셋째, 성과 결혼은 신적 의도에 따른 창조적 과정으로서 사랑과 출산을 위한 ‘목적적 연합’이라는 것이다. 도출된 이 세 가지 원칙에 기초해 보았을 때 동성애와 동성 간 결혼은 기독교 윤리적으로 승인되고 용인될 수 없으며 기독교 윤리적 이상에 부합되지 않기에 기독교적 실천에 있어 마땅히 거부되어야 할 현대사회의 한 문제임을 확인할 수 있었다. 하지만 예수가 행했던 것처럼 우리도 동성애자들을 단순히 정죄해서는 안 되며, 화목의 복음을 실천하기 위해 그리스도인들은 “죄인들을 끌어안지만 하나님의 의를 포기하지 않는 공동체”로서 살아가야 함을 제언하였다.
Abstract
This study stated from a Christian perspective on human sex and marriage in light of the biblical declaration, and evaluated sexual ethical issues raised in today’s era such as homosexuality and homosexual marriage. As a result of the study, the main principles of ‘sex and marriage norms’ found in Christian statements are as follows. First, sex and marriage are ‘heterosexual bonds’ and were set as firm principles within human creation as ‘men’ and ‘women.’ Secondly, the marriage that God has established at the time of creation was designed as a ‘union of monogamy.’ Thirdly, sex and marriage are creative processes according to divine intentions and are ‘purposeful alliances’ for love and childbirth. Based on these three principles, it was identified that homosexuality and homosexual marriage are problems in modern society that must be rejected in Christian practice because they cannot be approved or tolerated by Christian ethics and do not confirm to Christian ethical ideals. However, we should not simply condemn homosexuals as Jesus did, and this study suggests that Christians should live as “a community that embraces sinners but never gives up God’s righteousness” to practice the gospel of harmony.
