Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reestablish the history of the Pak palgue Je, Park Sanggeun Ryu Gayageum Sanjo and Byeong Chang, which were lost as a national intangible cultural asset through the restoration status of the Gayageum Sanjo of ‘Park Palgue (Cheongwon, Chungcheongbuk-do)’ and ‘Park Sanggeun (Yeongigun, Sejong).’ As for the research method, restoration activities were considered in terms of literature and performance through related prior studies. The research results are as follows. First, based on the Chungcheong region, which is the common musical background of Park Palgue and Park Sanggeun, Junggo Je was taken as a regional meaning. Second, the literature restoration activities lacked a point to highlight the musical legitimacy of Park Sanggeun, and the lack of artistic intersection with ‘Park Palgue’. Third, performance restoration activities have been conducted in a variety of ways. In particular, the fact that the Gutgeori (Gyeonggi Gutgeori) and Jungjungmori (Namdogutgeori) songs are included at the same time is due to the geographical characteristics of the Chungcheong region, and it can be said that it is a characteristic of the Chungcheongje Sanjo have. According to the research results, it is possible to restore local traditional arts through the restoration of the middle and high school Gayageum Sanjo of the Park Palgue and Park Sanggeun Ryu.
