초록
The purpose of this study was to analyze the brain activation pattern during the meaningful memorizing of biological terms with reward. We have designed four sets of task paradigms on the memorization of biological terms: high meaningful tasks with reward, high meaningful tasks without reward, low high meaningful tasks with reward, and low meaningful tasks without reward. The tasks were presented as block designs for the EEG recording. The EEG data were recorded (30 channels) from 14 healthy university students volunteered to be participants. Finally, ten students' EEG data were used for sLORETA analyses. The results of the analyses revealed that the insula, the anterior cingulate, the superior temporal gyrus and the middle temporal gyrus were significantly activated during the memory recording. The middle occipital gyrus (BA 19) was significantly activated during recalling the low meaningful biological terms with reward. The results supported the notion that meaningful memorization occurs when various terms and information are combined with students' prior knowledge. In addition, the results confirmed that the human learning and reward system is comprised of a number of cortical and subcortical neural regions.
