The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of DS (digital storytelling) on the improvement of English speaking confidence of Korean university students. For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted to measure English speaking confidence before and after class using DS to 90 students in the 3rd year of airline service department at a university located in Gyeongsangbuk-do. In the data analysis of this study, an independent t-test was used to check whether the difference between DS and English speaking confidence was statistically significant. Students’ confidence in speaking English improved after using DS. The increase in English speaking confidence scores of male students was bigger than that of female students. if the English class is taking this difference into consideration, there will be an educational effect to the students.
