연구 목적: 본 연구는 어머니가 인식하는 양육효능감, 부부 갈등 및 자아존중감 간의 구조적 관계를 파악함으로써 어머니의 양육효능감을 높이기 위한 대안을 마련하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 방법: 한국아동패널 9차 자료를 활용하여 10세 전후의 자녀를 둔 어머니의 자료를 분석하였으며, 기술통계분석, 상관관계분석 및 구조방정식모형분석을 실시하였다. 연구 내용: 어머니가 인식하는 부부 갈등이 양육효능감에 미치는 영향과 이 과정에서 자아존중감이 매개효과를 갖는지 파악하였으며, 부부 갈등과 양육효능감은 자아존중감에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자아존중감은 부부 갈등과 어머니의 양육효능감 관계에서 부분매개효과를 갖고 있었다. 결론 및 제언: 연구 결과를 바탕으로 부부 갈등을 감소하고 어머니의 양육효능감과 자아존중감을 높이기 위한 실천적 방안으로 가족생활교육, 스트레스 완화 프로그램, 자조모임의 필요성을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop alternatives to enhance the parenting efficacy of mothers by examining the structural relationship between parenting efficacy, marital conflict, and self-esteem perceived by mothers. For this purpose, data of mothers with children around the age of 10 were analyzed using the 9th data of the Panel Study on Korean Children. It was investigated whether the effect of marital conflict perceived by mothers on parenting efficacy and self-esteem had a mediating effect in this process. The results are as follows. First, marital conflict and self-esteem directly affect parenting efficacy. Second, self-esteem has a partial mediation effect on the relationship between marital conflict and parenting efficacy. Based on these results, the necessity of family life education, stress relief programs, and self-help groups were suggested as a practical way to reduce marital conflict and increase mothers’ parenting efficacy and self-esteem.
