연구 목적: 이 연구는 제2외국어로서의 한국어 읽기 능력을 향상하기 위하여 교재 선정 기준 및 교수 방안을 모색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구 방법: 학생의 관심과 흥미를 유발하기 위한 읽기와 한국의 문화이해를 통한 학습의 효과를 높이기 위해서는 한국문화와 모국문화의 상이점을 스스로 파악하고 이를 표현할 수 있는 능력을 구현할 수 있는가를 살펴보았다. 연구 내용: 전통적인 교수법을 지양하고 하향식 읽기와 상향식 읽기 교수법을 읽기 3단계(읽기 전 단계, 읽기 단계, 읽기 후 단계)에 교차 활용하는 방안 및 문제점 해소방안을 제시하였다. 결론 및 제언: 제2외국어로서의 한국어 읽기의 성취도는 한국문화의 이해도에 좌우된다는 점에서 유학생에게 한국문화 접촉의 기회를 충분히 제공하고 체득할 수 있도록 하는 것이 바람직하다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide a effective method by the criterion that we suggested in order to develop the reading abilities of Korean as a second language. We tried to mix the top-down and bottom-up reading methods with the pre-reading, main text reading, and post-reading process crosswise. We let the students find the difference of Korean and their mother’s culture, develop the communicative abilities through the understanding of different cultures. What is more important is that the teacher should give the students some stimulus to get interest in Korean language and culture. The author tries to offer specific solutions to promoting students’ studying interest and suggest three strategies in improving reading skill. Namely, the reading material selection, the teacher’s teaching design, and the cultural education.
