Abstract
The Song Dynasty is regarded as an important period in the history of Chinese culture. Its market culture was developed, the city was prosperous, and the refined and elegant scholar-official culture or elegant culture was comprehensively developed. Traditional Confucianism was continuously updated, which promoted the rise and development of Neo-Confucianism. The aesthetic theories and evaluation standards of this period can also reflect the aesthetic value orientation of the times, especially the calligraphy of the Song Dynasty, inherited from the Tang and Jin Dynasties, and the Five Dynasties. It is contrary to the rigorous legality pursued by the predecessors, and pays more attention to the interest and artistic style of calligraphy The presentation of diversity has even been incorporated into the Confucian system, elevating the pure ethical meaning to the level of cosmic ontology, emphasizing subjective performance, treating art as a symbol of human spiritual character, strengthening the cultural character of calligraphy, and opening up a new path. Behind the calligraphy reviews in traditional calligraphy, there are corresponding and implied thinking methods of the ancients. Among them, the ancient scholar-officials and literati groups as the main participants, their thinking modes, values, aesthetic interests, etc., especially under the influence of Confucianism His Yazheng social outlook will naturally affect the evaluation of calligraphers’ works and individual styles. The literati and doctors of the Song Dynasty made outstanding contributions to the theory of calligraphy and painting. Starting from the ethical spirit of the original Confucianism, they combined personal life experience with artistic practice, and emphasized "unification of literature and Taoism", and the mainstream of this period. "Shangyi" calligraphy can also be regarded as the product of Confucianism and the influence of "internal sage" on the aesthetics of literature and art. It can be seen that the calligraphy style of the Song Dynasty and the theoretical trend of thought have always been closely connected with the Song agency concept. However, if you evaluate calligraphy completely in accordance with the perspective of Confucianism, and pay too much attention to the ethical significance while ignoring the artistic value of calligraphy, it will inevitably hinder the free expression of the emotions and imagination of calligraphers. This approach is undoubtedly an artistry of calligraphy. A kind of neglect and damage.
