The purpose of this study was to investigate secondary school science teachers’ perceptions about the in-service teacher training programs and needs for them. The questionnaire, which was developed to examine their perceptions containing the appropriateness of content, support and promotion, preference of teaching and evaluating method of teacher training programs, and their needs containing lecturer, material type, the required area of teacher training programs. Data were collected from 132 (male: 70, female: 53) secondary school science teachers. Most of them had slightly positive perceptions about the images of in-service teacher training programs. but, almost of them wanted to be trained effectively and helpful for educating their students in school reality. Construction of the in-service teacher training programs should be considered the needs of secondary school science teachers.
