『書經』 번역본 현황과 향후 과제

이 땅에 儒學이 전래된 시기가 언제인지는 확정할 수 없지만, 역사기록 그 이전부터 꾸준히 유가의 經典을 우리말로 옮겨 왔다는 것에는 의심의 여지가 없다. 薛聰이래 고려시대에도 재야의 학자들 사이에는 道學의 기풍이 전해졌고, 성리학이 정식으로 수입되고 훈민정음이 창제되면서 經典의 우리말화 작업은 탄력을 받게 된다. 『書經諺解』의 경우 결국 1585년을 전후로 校正廳에서 관본 언해본을 간행한 이래, 현재까지도 『서경』해석의 교본이 되고 있으며 여전히 ‘諺解’를 기반으로 현대어 해석이 이루어지고 있다. 최초의 현대적인 『서경』해석서는 1967년 김학주의 『書經』(世界古典全集, 廣文出版)으로 확인된다. 이후 『書經』經文 번역서가 四書三經의 하나로 꾸준히 출판되었다. 1989년 『懸吐完譯 書經集傳』(成百曉)은 蔡沈의 『書集傳』을 현대어로 완역한 이래, 2013년 『尙書正義』(金東柱)도 번역 출판되어 조만간 十三經 가운데 尙書注疏의 완역이 기대된다. 기존 번역의 문제점은 여전히 『書集傳』과 諺解를 벗어나지 못하는 한계를 보인다는 점이다. 『尙書正義』를 비롯한 다양한 주석서의 완역을 통해 극복해야할 문제로서 경학 전문인력의 육성과 함께 근현대 『書經』연구성과를 적극 수용해야 할 필요성이 요구된다.
Abstract
I can not confirm the time when Confucianism was introduced into korea, but there is no doubt that the Confucian texts have been translated into Korean steadily since pre-dates the written history. Since the beginning of Silla dynasty, even in the Goryeo dynasty, the Confucian texts have been constantly read. As Neo-Confucianism formally imported and HunminJungeum was created, the work of translating texts gained momentum. In the 《Korean annotation of The book of History》’s case, after the correction agency has published the official version of the ‘Korean annotation’, it has been the standard text book to interpret 《The book of History》 until today. Modern language is also still interpreted based on this 《Korean annotation)of The book of History》. The first modern interpretation we can confirm is 《The book of History》, written by Hakju Kim in 1967. Since then, the translation of 《The book of History》 has been consistently published as one of 《The Seven Chinese Classics》. Since 《Complete Translation of The book of History》 completed translating Cai zhen’s 《Shujizhuan》 in 1989, in 2013 Kongyingda’s 《Shangshuzhengyi》 was also translated and published. Among the 《Thirteen Classics》, the translation of 《Shangshuzhushu》 is expected to be complete soon. The problem of the existing translation is that it still can not depart from 《Shujizhuan》 and 《Korean translation of The book of History》. The problem should be overcome through the complete translation of various annotation book of Classics including 《Shangshuzhengyi》. It is also necessary to develop the experts in confucianism classic and actively accept the results of modern research on 《The book of History》.
