The purpose of this paper is to analyze the diary of a migrant peasant laborer and show the inclusion and exclusion aspects in the life of a migrant laborer. Hukou system is the base to differentiate the urban residents from peasant migrant laborers. Because of hukou system, migrant laborerc cannot get a legitimate citizenship which allows the rights for housing, education, health insurance, legal protection, and so on. Migrant laborers who are lack of the rights for the citizens are excluded from jobs, social circles, and political and legal protections. However, they were incorporated as cheap laborers into urban system or factory, a necessary part for the fast development of China. This paper explains how the exclusion and inclusion of migrant laborers were described in a diary.
