자연물 소재 시조의 의미 양상 -소나무 소재 작품을 중심으로-

시조 작품에서 소나무를 통해 우리가 추구해야 할 도의는 영원과 불변, 절개와지조 그리고 나라의 동량으로서 인재이다. 다시 말해서 소나무는 기본적으로 소나무가 가지고 있는 상록수로서의 특성 때문에 영원과 불변, 그리고 이를 바탕으로 하는 절개와 지조, 또한 이러한 도의를 갖춘 인물로서 나라의 동량인 인재로 의미 부여가 이루어진다. 또한 소나무는 시조 작품에서 물아일체의 대상으로 인식되어 한적한 전원 생활, 속세를 떠난 은일 생활 그리고 아름다운 자연 풍경으로 노래된다. 다시 말해서 소나무는 전원에서 우리 주변에 함께 있는 특성 때문에 한적한 전원 생활의 대상이 되고, 이를 통해 속세를 떠난 은일 생활을 꿈꾸는 대상이 되며, 또한 아름다운 자연 풍경을 보여주는 대상이라는 의미 부여가 이루어진다. 그리고 소나무 단독 소재 유형은 작품에서 소나무라는 특정 자연물이 작가층에게 관념화된 대상으로 인식된다. 이 경우 소나무는 상록수라는 특성 때문에 우리가 추구해야 할 도의의 대상이 된다. 따라서 소나무가 단독적으로 작품의 소재로 사용되는 유형은 소나무의 의미가 우리가 추구해야 할 도의인 절개와 지조, 영원과 불변 그리고 나라의 동량인 인재라는 가치로 구체화된다. 또 소나무 관련 소재 유형은 작품에서 소나무의 의미를 주로 물아일체의 대상으로 인식하고 있다. 즉 소나무와 관련된 대상이 함께 작품의 소재가 되는 소나무 관련 소재는 한적한 전원 생활과 속세를 떠난 은일 생활 그리고 아름다운 자연풍경 등 우리와 함께 하는 물아일체의 대상으로 소나무를 노래한다. 이것은 대부분의 소나무와 관련된 소재가 소나무가 있는 공간과 연결되어 있는 데서 기인한 것으로 생각된다. 왜냐하면 소나무가 있는 공간은 곧 전원이고, 따라서 소나무와 관련된 소재는 작품에서 소나무가 있는 공간인 전원 생활을 노래하게 되기 때문이다. 따라서 특정 자연물이 단독적으로 작품의 소재로 사용되게 되면 그 자연물의 개별적 특성을 바탕으로 자연물은 도의의 대상으로 그 의미가 부여되고, 특정 자연물과 관련된 대상이 작품의 소재로 사용되게 되면 그 자연물이 있는 공간에 대한 인식을 바탕으로 자연물은 물아일체의 대상으로 의미가 부여된다고 하겠다.
Abstract
Moral principles that we have to persue through pine tree which appears intraditional poems ‘Sijo’ are eternity and unchangeable, integrity and fidelity anda talent being the pillar of the country. That is to say that because offundamental characteristics of pine tree being a evergreen tree, the meaning ofeternity and unchangeable, integrity and fidelity that are based on those valuesand a person equipped with these moral justices as the pillar of the countrycan be imposed. On the other hand, the pine tree is recognized as an object to identify in ‘Sijo’ to be symbolized as a quiet county life, secluded life away from secular society and beautiful scenary of nature. This can be inferred that since pinetress are around us in countryside which allowed it to be a symbol of quietcountry life via which one can imagine a secluded life unworldly and to be asymbol of beautiful view of nature. Moreover, the pine tree, in terms of a single material type, is recognized asan ideated object to the writer. In this case, due to its characteristic of being evergreen tree, it becomes an object of morality for us to follow. Therefore, in case when a pine tree is used as a single material in a poem, the meaning ofa pine tree is reified into the values of eternity and unchangeable, integrityand fidelity and a talent being the pillar of the country. On the other hand, it can be noticed that many poems using materials related to the pine tree usually recognize the meaning of the pine tree as anobject to identify. That is, when an object related to pine tree appears on apoem, that object support and become part of us to sing a pine tree toidentify ourselves in terms of quiet country life, secluded life away fromsecular society and beautiful scenary of nature. The reason of this can be inferred from a fact that the most of materials related to the pine tree is connected to a space or a place where a pine tree stays which accordingly arural areas and, thus, materials related to a pine tree represents a countryside where a pine tree is. To summarize, there are two representative types in ‘Sijo’ natural object; one that applies a natural object as a symbol of moral principles based on a recognition toward a individual characteristic of a certain natural object, andthe other that sings a natural object as a one to identify ourselves based on a spatial characteristic in which that natural object is.
