The Chinese character ‘其(Qi)’ appeared 297 times in the Guodian Chu bamboo slips. The multiple usages of ‘Qi’ appeared in Guodian Chu bamboo slips undoutedly extend its various usages in oracle bone script and bronze script. In Guodian Chu bamboo slips, the character ‘其(Qi)’ had been used as demonstrative pronoun, adverb, auxiliary word, conjunction and preposition as well. When it is used as demonstrative pronoun, it is normally seen as Indefinite pronouns indicating, including people and things, this usage has been a predecessor of the usage of personal pronoun and demonstrative pronoun in both ancient and modern Chinese. When it is used as adverb, it can be divided as adverbs of time and modal adverb, and the modal adverb always means emphasis, speculation, query and opinion and so on. Moreover, when the character of ‘其(Qi)’ is used as conjunction, it can appear in both simple sentences and complex sentences. The ‘其(Qi)’ appears has different usages in simple sentences and demonstrative pronoun; when it appears in complex sentences, it not only can be seen as Choose conjunction of righteousness, but also sinngebung conjunction. What is more, The Chinese character ‘其(Qi)’ appeared in the Guodian Chu bamboo slips has the same uage with the structural auxiliary word ‘之’. However, because of the difference between The residual Jane and writing textual research and explication, and the phenomenon of grammatical combination of ‘其(Qi)’, this paper focus on the explanation of the usage of ‘其(Qi)’ in the Guodian Chu bamboo slips.
