Abstract
In this study, using polarizing microscope 28 different breeds of dogs (Canis lupus familiaris) 8 different breeds of cats (Felis silvestris catus) and 5 types of local (Head, Ear, Back, Abdomen, Tail) samples were classified into 3 types depending on morphological of medulla. In dog samples, CU (9.5%), CA (36.8%), CG (3.7%), CC (33%), AE (16.3%), AF (22.8%), and I (4.9%) were found to have the most CA-type properties of 36.8%. In cat samples, CU (31 percent), CA (19.5%), CG (2.2%), CC (14.9%), AF (22.9%), and I(1.1) were found to be of the most common type of CU at 31%. CM and CL types did not appear in dog and cat samples, but only in dog samples for AE types. By building DB detailed analysis of dog samples (324) and cat samples (87) by breeds, individual, body parts, etc. And we found differences in the type of medulla by the same breeds, individual, body parts, etc. and also confirmed that species (dog, cat) possessed the same type of medulla. When collecting animal hairs as evidence of contrast at the crime scene, it was confirmed that the animal parts should be collected as diverse as possible, and that animal hair evidence should be carefully examined for contrast analysis.
