For several decades there was a snob barrier that prevented the Hollywood animation from receiving serious attention. Perhaps Hollywood animations were too successful in commercial marketplace to overcome such feelings. Perhaps their unpretentiousness worked against them. Certainly the fact that the film industry ignored these animations didn't help their bid for prominence or posterity. Hollywood animation study is still far from mainstream study. There is much work to be done to reposition the animation in the right position. There are still not many sources to study animation in academic approach. In this regard, this study could be a basic resource for academic approach to animation.
