Propp and Greimas are Scholars of Semiotics. In this paper, the theory of the semiotics was analyzed and compared with the narrative of the animation. Making Comparison between semiotics of scholars and the narrative structure of comtemporary animation is very meaningful to look at it more or less valid. This paper analyzed the narrative of Disney animation, and compared this with Propp and Greimas`s theory. Semiotic narrative structure and narrative of the animation almost similar structure was found. These results may be useful to animators.
Abstract
Propp and Greimas are Scholars of Semiotics. In this paper, the theory of the semiotics was analyzed and compared with the narrative of the animation. Making Comparison between semiotics of scholars and the narrative structure of comtemporary animation is very meaningful to look at it more or less valid. This paper analyzed the narrative of Disney animation, and compared this with Propp and Greimas`s theory. Semiotic narrative structure and narrative of the animation almost similar structure was found. These results may be useful to animators.
