개인범죄 반복피해의 영향요인과 피해후유증에 관한 연구

초록

이 연구에서는 개인이 경험하는 반복피해에 주목하여 피해발생의 위험과 반복피해의 심각성(빈도)에 영향을 미치는 요인을 비교하여 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 ‘전국범죄피해조사’ 세 차례 자료(2010-2014)를 통합ㆍ활용하였고, 주거침입 등 가구범죄피해를 제외한 개인의 피해만을 포함하여 영과잉 음이항회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 개인의 범죄피해 경험여부와 범죄피해 횟수, 즉 반복적인 피해에 영향을 미치는 공통요인과 차별요인이 있음을 발견하였다. 연령과 혼인상태는 범죄피해의 위험 및 반복피해의 심각성에 공통적으로 영향을 미치는 반면, 회피와 보호행동, 동네의 사회적 무질서 수준 등은 반복피해의 심각성에만 영향을 미쳤다. 2번 이상 반복피해를 경험한 피해자들은 범죄피해로 인한 사법제도와 법에 대한 존중감의 부정적 변화를 1회 피해경험자들에 비해 훨씬 크게 느끼는 것으로도 나타났다. 이 연구는 이차자료를 활용한 한계가 있음에도 불구하고, 보다 대표성 있는 자료를 활용하여 개인의 반복피해 실태와 영향요인, 그리고 후유증을 종합하여 분석하였다는 점과 피해대상에 따라 차별화된 피해예방 전략수립의 실증적 근거를 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Abstract

This study was conducted to identify risk factors that influence the probability and severity of personal crime victimization. Personal- and incident-level data were merged from 2010-2014 Korean Crime Victimization Survey, and zero-inflate negative binomial regression model for the number of victimization data were utilized to determine risk factors for personal crime victimization. The age and marital status of respondents were fount to be a salient risk factors of probability and severity of personal crime victimization in common. Individuals’ avoidance and protective behavior have an impact on the severity of victimization, not on the probability of victimization. The impact of repeat victimization were also analyzed; victims have trouble trusting others and confidence in criminal justice system and the law. With the limitation of using secondary data, the finding suggest that tailored prevention and intervention considering target populations might be beneficial for preventative efficiency of personal crime victimization.
