성충동 약물치료대상자의 인지행동치료 처우기법 개발

초록

성범죄자 치료의 목적은 성범죄자가 다시 범죄를 저지르지 않음으로써 우리 사회를 보호하는 데 있다. 이런 목적을 달성하기 위해 성범죄자에 대한 효과적인 치료는 상당히 중요하고 필요불가결한 요소이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 성충동약물치료와 병행하는 심리치료인, 인지행동치료에 대해 구체적으로 설명하였다. 인지행동치료에 근거한 5가지 치료개입법을 상세하게 설명하였는데 그것은 인지왜곡, 감정관리, 대인관계기술, 공감능력, 재발방지 및 자아관리 등이다. 인지행동치료법은 성범죄자의 재범률을 줄이는 데 상당히 효과적인 치료법으로 판명되고 있다. 우리나라에서는 인지행동치료법의 효과성 검증에 대한 연구는 거의 희박한 수준이지만, 가능성은 충분하다고 볼 수 있다. 즉 상습적인 성범죄자를 대상으로 한 성충동 약물치료와 병행한 인지행동치료를 실행할 경우 성범죄 재범률을 낮추는 데 효과가 있을 것으로 확신한다. 따라서 이 연구는 인지행동치료의 의의와 처우기법을 구체적으로 제안했다는 점에서 중요한 의미를 가진다.

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to introduce cognitive behavioral therapy in the treatment programs for sex offenders to reduce the risk that a sex offender will re-offend, and therefore, to protect Korean society. Cognitive behavioral therapy intervention program is based on the cognitive model that posits that distorted and dysfunctional thinking is a common symptom of all psychological problems and illnesses and that these distorted thoughts influence a person's moods and behaviors. The main goal of using cognitive behavioral therapy in the treatment programs for sex offenders is to reduce sexual recidivism. To achieve the goals of this study, Certain components are included all cognitive behavioral therapy interventions for sex offenders. These cognitive behavioral therapy intervention program include the treatment of cognitive distortions, emotion management, the teaching of interpersonal skills and empathy, relapse prevention and self-management. The most important policy implications of this study is that cognitive behavioral therapy interventions should be considered best practice for treatment for sex offenders.
